10th International LDS Art Competition Entry

I just finished this — my submission for the 10th International LDS Art Competition this year. The theme was: Tell Me the Stories of Jesus.

“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.” Luke 2:52

If the judges like it, it’ll go in an exhibit this fall in the Church Art History Museum in SLC (which will also be online). I’ll keep you posted on that score …

I started with a graphite drawing and painted it in Photoshop. If anyone’s interested, I’m happy to post a quick process overview.

Faith Comission

This was for a paid commission. The subject was Faith. I started with pencil, then India ink outlines, then watercolor, finished and highlighted in Photoshop.

“And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word.”
(New Testament | Luke 1:38)

Good Friends

This one was for a lesson my mother-in-law taught to young women in our church (texture and highlights since added). The lesson was about friendship, the idea being to make sure your conduct in social situations is such that you’d be comfortable if the Savior were present in your midst.
